A Healthy Smile Is Important for a Great Overall Appearance

Some Secrets For A Much Cleaner Mouth

You know that brushing, flossing, and rinsing your mouth out with mouth rinse in the evening are some things that are important when it comes to helping to prevent cavities and other problems like gum disease. However, if you are the type of personality who prefers to go overboard and take things up a level, then you may want to know how you can get yourself the cleanest mouth possible. The information here will offer you extra tips for an even cleaner mouth:

Use the right type of mouthwash and use it correctly

You should be asking your dentist about the type of mouthwash they recommend for your teeth. They may want you to use a certain type depending on what types of issues you have with your teeth. For example, if you have thin enamel or a lot of soft spots in your teeth, then they will more than likely suggest that you start using mouthwash that contains a certain amount of fluoride in it so your enamel can be strengthened.

Some people don't give their mouthwash the proper amount of time to continue working because they accidentally use it wrong. They either use it and then brush their teeth or they use it and then they drink water right afterwards; don't make these mistakes.

Clean your tongue

While you are putting so much effort into those teeth, remember that your tongue also harbors loads of germs. Use a tongue scraper instead of your toothbrush so you can make sure you are getting it as clean as possible.

Use peroxide and water once a day to keep a clean oral environment

Using a mixture of half water and half peroxide to rinse your mouth out once a day can also help keep your mouth cleaner. It also gives you the added benefit of helping to combat teeth staining so you can go longer between teeth whitening sessions.

Drink more water and less of other types of drinks

Every time you drink water you will be rinsing your mouth out and washing down foods and other debris that can lead to staining, cavities and even bad breath. When you drink anything else that has sugars, acids or artificial colors you can be doing more damage to your teeth because what you put in your mouth while you are drinking will linger and possibly cause dental issues to appear faster.

About Me

A Healthy Smile Is Important for a Great Overall Appearance

I have always loved fashion and beauty and have always taken great pride in my appearance. As a young adult, I never missed a hair coloring appointment or hesitated to run out to the mall to grab the latest trendy clothing item, but unfortunately, I didn't care for my teeth as well as I should. While I never used to be one to "shy away" from photos, I started fearing the camera after I saw how bad my teeth looked in one. That photo was a wake-up call, and I then dedicated myself to taking better care of my teeth at home, visiting the dentist regularly, and getting the dental work I needed. I learned a lot during this time, so I decided to start a blog to help others make smart dental decisions. Come back and check out my posts!
