It's best to do it after you brush your teeth, as brushing helps remove built up plaque between your teeth and gums. This will allow the vinegar to clean between the teeth and attack germs more efficiently.
For those that find swishing with vinegar a bit too strong, you can apply it to your gums with a small spray bottle. Simply use a few sprays at once, and follow up with rinsing your gums with warm water.

Many toothpastes these days now come with baking soda, but it's not as effective as using the real thing. All you need to make your own homemade toothpaste is some baking soda and a small amount of water.

Drink Water With Lemon
Adding lemon to your water can actually help with your oral health. Lemon juice is acidic, and will help kill the bacterial on your gums. If you cannot find a way to brush between meals, lemon water can help your gums stay healthy.
